Prevent Apps from Accessing Your Camera & Microphone on Android

Here are the steps to revoke microphone and camera access on Android devices.

For Most Android Devices

Settings –> Privacy –> Permission manager -> “Camera” or “Microphone”. You’ll see how many apps have requested permissions and how many of those apps you’ve approved.

Android lists the apps that have requested permissions. Those apps are sorted into two categories: “ALLOWED,” apps that you granted permission, and “DENIED,” apps you denied permission.

Select an App and “Deny” the ones that don’t need it.

For Samsung Devices (Android 10+)

Open the Settings -> “Privacy” -> “Permission manager,” -> “Camera”.

Choose any app, and select “Deny” to prevent it from accessing your cameras.

Open the “Settings” –> “Privacy” –> “Permission manager” -> “Microphone.” Select the app, then set it to “Deny” to revoke access to the microphone.
