Privacy Oriented Browsers

The internet is primarily accessed through a browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Brave Browser. Picking a browser is critical to a safe and private internet experience.

I recommend the following in this order:

  1. Brave – Very easy to use and secure “out of the box.”
  2. Mozilla – Highly trusted and not a google product.
  3. Chrome – If you are a Google user, they have your data anyways.

First, most of the top browsers all stem from one open-source project, Chromium, started by Google in 2008.

Chromium is the root of the majority of browsers today.

After each of these companies branched off, they all added various features for usability and security. Google Chrome is one of the longest-standing. Microsoft recently ended support for Internet Explorer in favor of a modified version of the Chromium project.

The Browser of choice for security and privacy is Brave Browser. Coming with an easy-to-understand Website Tracker and Ad blocker and its privacy-focused search engine as default, it’s the best choice for now.

It must be noted, as with all free services, they make money to provide a product.

Brave makes money via banner ads, subscription fees, affiliate commissions, as well as by selling digital and physical products through its online store.
